Duties

Duties of the office of the Mayor are outlined in the Dacono City Charter.

• The mayor is elected to a three-year term and can serve no more than three consecutive terms.
• The mayor is considered a member of the city council but not entitled to vote on any matter except in a case of a tie vote.
• The mayor presides at meetings of the council.
• The mayor is recognized as the head of the city government for all ceremonial and legal purposes.
