2024 Carbon Valley VETERANS WALL OF HONOR Dedication Ceremony is scheduled for November 10, 2024 at 10:00am.
The Carbon Valley Veterans Wall of Honor is located at SH52 and Colorado Boulevard. This monument was constructed to honor Veterans throughout the Carbon Valley who have served during a time of conflict or non-conflict, and been honorably discharged.
Wall of Honor
The Wall of Honor recognizes Carbon Valley Veterans. Veterans, or their families, seeking to have a name placed on the Wall of Honor should obtain an application from the City of Dacono.
Veterans must have a connection to the Carbon Valley area, but current residency is not required. Connections are current residents of Dacono, Firestone, or Frederick or former residents of Dacono, Firestone, or Frederick. Only validated Carbon Valley residents are eligible. The Veteran’s name, branch of service, and dates of service will be on the wall.
No additional applications for the Wall of Honor are being accepted for 2023/2024. We are currently validating the authenticity of forms submitted for 2023. Unfortunately, we have received many applications that were not authorized by families, lack a connection to the Carbon Valley, or do not have the required documentation.
Please note that any calls from a third party about applications or status are not endorsed by the City of Dacono. Please help us honor our Veterans and respect the purpose of the Wall of Honor. If you have questions, please contact Stephanie Lutzinger at 303-833-2317 x133.
The 2024 application and required form(s) are currently being developed and will be available in early 2024. The forms will be posted on this site when application submission is open.
Release or Discharge Forms
In addition to the application, a copy of the DD-214 form, Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty, is required with the submittal to verify military service. All documentation will be verified. Go to National Archives for assistance obtaining documentation.
There is no cost to have a Veteran’s name placed on the Wall of Honor. There will also be opportunities to help support the project through donor tiles on the seat walls.
